The goal of the music on the album “Tilted Playing Field” was to achieve a smart and energetic sound that crossed generations and genres. The approach to melody, harmony, rhythm, and lyrics was intended to breathe some new life into the classic song writing approaches used for many years in Pop-Rock music, to be achieved largely through the use of more interesting jazz influenced chord changes, and novel lyrical content.
